คณะกรรมการด้านการชลประทานและการระบายน้ำแห่งประเทศไทย (Thai National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage, THAICID) ได้ดำเนินบทบาทหน้าที่ในการเป็นศูนย์กลาง การดำเนินกิจกรรมต่างๆ ของ ICID และองคการระหว่างประเทศอื่นๆ ที่มีความสนใจและค้นคว้าวิจัยและพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีเกี่ยวกับการชลประทาน การระบายน้ำ การป้องกันอุทกภัยและงานอื่นๆ จะเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุมทางวิชาการ 7th THAICID NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ณ โรงแรมริชมอนด์ นนทบุรี เดือน มิถุนายน 2555

On 10 December 2011, Professor Dr. Gao Zhanyi, President of ICID (International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage-ICID) has spent a visit to observe water resources management of the Royal Irrigation Department (RID), Samsen Annex, Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Gao was welcomed by Mr.Chaiwat Preechawit, ICID Vice President, Dr. Somkiat Prajamwong, THAICID Deputy Secretary and other THAICID members at the Water Watch and Monitoring System for Warning Center (WMSC) of the RID. After brifted by Dr.Somkiat of the current flooding situation and the country water management, Dr. Gao was invited to sign in a wishing well book to celebrate His Majesty the King of Thailand’s 84th year anniversary at the Central Hall of RID.


On 11 December 2011, Professor Dr.Gao Zhanyi, President of ICID (International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage-ICID) has observed the area affected from 2011 Thailand’s most severe flood in Nonthaburi, Pathumthani, Singburi and Chainat provinces. Briefs by the officers of the Royal Irrigation Department about the flooding causes and management and site visits were made at Rangsit Nua Project, Bang Chom Sri Regulator and Prangam Regulator. In this occasion, Dr. Gao has made a courtesy call to Mr. Chalit Damrongsak, THAICID President and Director General of the Royal Irrigation Department who came to welcome Dr.Gao at Chao Phraya Diversion Dam, Chainat Province. After brifted about flood management, the ICID President has expressed his appreciation for Mr. Chalit’s hard working in flood fighting to help the effected Thai people.
