คณะกรรมการด้านการชลประทานและการระบายน้ำแห่งประเทศไทย (Thai National committee on Irrigation and Drainage,THAICID)) ได้จัดประชุมวิชาการ 8th THAICID NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM เมื่อวันพุธที่ 19 มิถุนายน 2556 ณ โรงแรมริชมอนด์ อำเภอปากเกร็ด จังหวัดนนทบุรี หัวข้อ "Using 21st Century Technology to Better Management of Irrigation, Drainage and Flood in Thailand" โดยมี รศ.ดร.เจษฎา แก้วกัลยา ที่ปรึกษารัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงเกษตรและสหกรณ์ เป็นประธานเปิดการประชุม, นายเลิศวิโรจน์ โกวัฒนะ (ประธาน THAICID), นายศุภชัย รุ่งศรี(ประธานคณะทำงานด้านวิชาการ), นายชัยวัฒน์ ปรีชาวิทย์ (Vice President of ICID และกรรมการผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิฯ) เข้าร่วมการประชุม พร้อมวิทยากรรับเชิญ, แขกรับเชิญ, ผู้ส่งบทความ และผู้เข้าร่วมประชุมจาก 30 หน่วยงาน กว่า 218 คน ภายในงานมีการแสดงนิทรรศการ การแสดงโปสเตอร์ จากบริษัทและมหาวิทยาลัย การดำเนินการประชุมในครั้งนี้ประสบความสำเร็จลุล่วงด้วยดี
