As a multi-purpose earth dam located across the Thap Salao stream at
Lan Sak District, Uthai Thani Province, the dam was constructed during
1985 - 1988 to store water of 160 million cubic meters for several purposes
including irrigation over an areas of 20,800 ha in the wet season and
10,400 ha in the dry season, flood alleviation in Thap Salao river basin
and Uthai Thani Province and electric generating of 1,000 kW.
