This is one of the projects royally initiated by His Majesty King Bhumibol of Thailand.
Designed to obstruct the Lam Nang Rong Stream at Ban Non Din Daeng Sub-district,
Lahan Sai District of Buriram Province, this 23-m high and 1,500-m long dam can
impound water at approximately 150 million cubic meters. The construction of the
dam which was commenced in 1980 and completed in 1982 has helped impounding
irrigation water for 18,097 ha wet-season and 1,600 ha dry-season cultivated area
and also raw water for the water works of the Non Din Daeng Sub-district and of the
Lahan Sai District as well for industrial use in such districts.
