Located across the Wang River at Ban Laeng Sub-district,
Muang Lampang District, Lampang Province, the dam is
a concrete dam with 26.50-m height and 135 m. crest length
constructed during 1964 - 1972 to create a reservoir of 122
million cubic meters retenetion capacity. After the completion
of its distribution system in 1981, the dam has yielded benefits
in many aspects including irrigation water supply for cultivated
areas of 8,800 ha, raw water supply for the water works of the
Lampang Province as well as flood alleviation in the provincial areas.
